Default Great Barrier Reef Diving

Greetings,

I'm going to Australia in May 2007. I want to dive somewhere on the GBR. I'm looking for recommendations on which island to make a home base.

Has anyone been diving off of Brampton Island? I heard that this was good. Any info is helpful. Thanks!!

If you have the time I would recommend you go a little further north; up to the coral sea. You can only do it on liveaboards (so a little ££) but it is well worth it. The dives I had up there were in a league of their own, easily the best out of the 300 I've done so far! Just look up sites like 'cod hole' and 'steves bommie' for yourself, you'll be convinced!

Default Great Info

Thank you chanelle999 for this info. I also want to thank all the people who have posted info on diving the GBR. I'm going to dive the GBR in May. All the postings have been VERY helpful. I appreciate it!

I'll definately look up 'cod hole' and 'steves bommie'. Thanks again.
