Default New Zealand diving help

Hi,

I'm off to New Zealand for a few weeks end of June early July - can anyone recommend some good sites to try? I'll be initially at Christchurch and then heading to Auckland - what's the sea temperatures at this time of year? semidry needed?

I've never been to New Zeland so I may be talking crap but I have researched it and wanted to dive there for ages. My personal wishlist includes diving the wreck of Rainbow Warrior up in the Cavalli Islands just because it's the Rainbow Warrior, and the Poor Knights because of its specatacular reputation. The highlight however would be to have an encounter with with one or more Orca because there is a long list of very close and friendly encounters in NZ waters (particularly off North Island. That would really be something else.
Oh, and it sounds like at least semidry diving, possibly drysuit.
Have a great trip - I'm very jealous.
