Question Pacific diving destination...Palau

Any opinions /suggestions on advisability of island hopping in Micronesia vs. selecting just 1 or 2 islands.I am planning my Pacific "dream of a lifetime "dive vacation.Leaning towards Palau & Yap in Jan 2007 . Also am considering adding Chuk& Pohnpei/ Kosrae as well. Any help is greatly appreciated P.S. If you feel there is a preferable location to make my dreams come true, feel free to fill me in. THNAKS!!!

I'd recommend Fiji, in your list of great diving. Soft corals everywhere.

For a non diver...is this a place to learn? Where should we stay?

If you can complete some of your learning here in the states, I would. Classroom and pool, this way all you will have to do on the trip is repeat the skills in the open water. After four training diving you will be certified as an open water diver. You will have depth limits but you and your husband would be able to dive together. These is PADI standards however here are other organizations, NAUI, YMCA and SSI are all training organizations. Check with you local dive shop to find out what you would have to do. If not while your on your trip you will have to find a resort with a training facility on location and spend part of your vacation learning apart from your husband. Just a thought.
