On the other hand, if the animal in question could be positively identified, it should be destroyed. We just don't know enough of the particulars of what went on from the original posting.

| Come on a death sentence for a wild animal being wild in its enviroment? If the shark attacked somebody on my street (I mean on my street) well OK . But you're in their place. When you read the reports somebody is somewhere they shouldn't be; doing something they shouldn't be doing or just having a bad day. I have a hard time sentencing a fish to death for being a fish. One caveat here I do like eating fish. I try to avoid shark, orange roughy etc that are struggling.

| I've got to go with glynneco on this one. We're in his house. (Although this is a far reaching similarity) If someone comes into my my house uninvited and I feel he's going to harm to me or my family, he's gonna get shot. (If I was a shark, I'd eat him) But, you can't destroy me for protecting my territory. Sharks can't reason whether the person is there to harm him or not. So, he does what comes natural. Kill and eat.
Look at what happend to the stingray popluation after one killed Steve Irwin. People went on a rampage and started killing them. It's just not the way to go about it. IMHO... |

| How do you know which shark to kill.
Seems to me that we get it wrong quite often with people killing people. We even have big investigations, lawyers and trials and still get it wrong. I don't see how you'd know which shark to kill.

| Wow don't know if I could go shark hunting. To me they all seem a bit to scary, just the fact they are ugly, too! |

| I've got to vote no on this one, although I think my opinion has changed to this over recent years. Also, I've never personally been attacked. That positive ID is one of the problems. Besides, sharks are just as important to the reef and environment balance as are the harmless, pretty fish. |

| I totally disagree to hunting sharks. If you go into the ocean, your entering their territory.
If a strange thing came into your home, you'd investigate and if you felt that it was a threat, you'd probably attack it too. |

| I personally love sharks, I mean, don't get me wrong, but I think that human life is simply more important than a fishes. I do think it's wrong to hunt the shark down simply for revenge or for fun, but if said shark has acquired a 'taste' for humans (as has been previously stated), then it should be killed for obvious reasons.
