I've always wondered if the creatures in sea world were happy. it just isn't their natural habitat. They need a lot of space and these parks don't seem to have any, and that how hard they try.

I am just back from the Grand Cayman Island. Some tour operater came up the bright idea of building a swim with the dolphins experience. Almost all dive operators on the island are in an up roar (very must against). They are also thinking that it would be good to build and international pier for the cruise ships. I agree with the dive operators both ideas stink. The death cost is just not worth it. Thats the view no one every wants to look at.
When a friend of my mentioned she had done a swim program, I asked her how it felt to give money to a death operator. Dolphins are not pets.

Tricia,
Thanks for that link. I checked out BlueVoice and the Dolpin video. I'm afraid I was innocently unaware of the number of dolphins actually caught in the name of tourism in Japan.

good link.

I agree with you, however;there is a web site called captivitystinks.com. I have been doing rescue and rehab work for a long time and it is really sad to see what becomes of so many of our wonderful creatures of the sea!! I just wish we as humans didn't feel so entitled to devastate anything we see just because we can!
