Default Is this dive worth it?

Ok, I live right behind a golf course and its owned by the city. I am pretty cool with the owner and I have gotten permission to dive the pond at the course, its only about 20-25ft deep at the bottom, and i would be able to keep probley all the golf balls i find. Here is the only problem, its a pretty dirty pond, its got all the geese like most ponds have so its pretty filled with duck crap and all that, not excatly clean water. Just wondering if you guys thought that it was worth the bother of going in.

Pretty cool with the owner? The whole city? Wow! Well I for one wouldn't worry about the droppings. The chemical run off from the fertilizer, bug killer etc should take care of that problem. Keep you mouth closed and don't have any open wounds and you should be fine. Let us know how it works out. White gold they call the balls. How much is he going to give you for the balls?

lol, thanks guys, i figured it wasnt worth it, as for what he was going to pay me, i dont know, he might just let me keep all the balls, or they might pay like 5-10 cents a ball, but im not going to bother going down there, like mgic, its not worth getting an infection or something.

Just some added information. E-Coli from Geese closed a quarry near where I dive. There be other nasties in the water, snakes, snapping turtles, worms, just not a place to dive. Sounds like you made a good choice to skip this one.

I thought being a Golf Ball diver at some of our local courses here. That is, of course, until I met a gator face to face. I've never given it another thought since then.

There was an article about this in Scuba Diving mag a few years back. It's not for the squeamish or the unprepared.

Don't know, I stopped reading that rag years ago. You might try their web site.
