Absolutely true.
Drinking a Coke beforehand will make a nasty looking gob sure to impress other divers.

Yup, toothpaste works the best for cleaning your mask. Generally the cheapest grittiest kind you can get. Cleaning on a regular basis will also help. And of course a good defog like sea drops or sea gold
