Hey all, I’m just going to be getting into Scuba Diving this summer and was wondering how to get certified?? I keep reading that people are just getting into it and there in university do you have to have good schooling to be a Scuba Diver?? Because I’m still in High School and a bit behind too haha. I live in Ontario if it makes any difference. So yeah how do you get certified? And do you need good Schooling?

Try goi to going to a local dive shop. Most offer classes or can refer you to an instructor. Nothing wrong with fresh water diving. I have heard the St. Lawrence river is great for bottle hunting. Good luck and dive safe.

Do a quick web search for dive schools in your area and visit more than one if you can before you decide which one to train with. Scuba schools all have their own character and one may suit you better than another as they will probably have an affiliated club you can go diving with after you've done your initial training. If possible try and use a padi 5 star centre - the quality of your instruction opbviously has a direct influence on how good and safe a diver you become. Oh, and don't forget that you're meant to have fun in the process.
