Default New to ScubaDiving Pls Help

I am about to take my first course in Scubadiving, I want to read about the procedure of diving for starters. before I go to the course.
Can anyone please help me with links that can provide some pre-read to the whole thing.

Thanks

The "whole thing" of scuba can be overwhelming, that is if you intend on tackling every aspect all at once. I would start with the basics. Get the book the course will require you to use.... read through the first few chapters, then read ahead into the stuff that concerns you most about scuba (admit it, we all had concerns in the begining). The book is really the best resource, but for now here is a few places to check out on the web...

http://scuba.about.com/od/beginners/ that should get you started but I also like this one.... http://www.articlecity.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi that site is a non-baised site authored by you and me, so you will get some real opinions there.

And as always.... if you have specific questions feel free to ask me

I apologies for coming out a bit to strong in showing how immature I am in diving, but I couldn’t help it, I am very excited and can’t wait, I should start in early July.

Thank you very much for your response, the links are very useful.
Do you have the name of the book? I will try to get it online.

I don't think it's immaturity at all! I just think you're stoked and that's the way it should be.... you are going to love it! Never lose your enthusiasm... its contagious!

This is the book we used in our class, you'll want to make sure that it will be the same one they will use in your class, otherwise you've just lost $35.00. It can be located here http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ance&n=3375251.

Have a great time!

Yeah, don't stress it. It gets easier as you go. Be sure to concentrate on equalizing and buoyancy. We all make mistakes as we learn, but, don't beat yourself up about it. You'll get more comfortable with each dive. Don't ever hold your breath. Something I learned this last weekend with a new mask, was , it fit closer to my face, less air space, got a mask squeeze, a lot to think about, but take it one step at a time. Get comfortable with what you have, then move on.
