Does anyone have advice on which of this two major diving schools might be better to get my open water certification. I've noticed from my internet researching that there seems to be more PADI centres but I also read a couple of reviews saying NAUI were the better choice? Thanks, Deborah

Deborah, everyone is going to have an opinion about PADI vs. NAUI.. Both agencies teach (I believe) just about the same skill set. What you really need to be looking for is an Instructor that you can trust. Having the right instructor will make more of a difference in your diving career than the certifying agency, IMO.. Check around with other divers in your area and who they used as an Instructor and if they would recommend them. Good luck in your underwater journey and keep us informed of your progress.

The instructor is by far the most important consideration. Until you get into pretty advanced stuff, all agencys' programs are pretty interchangeable.

PADI is by far the biggest and has innumerable tie-ins with resorts, shops, and so forth. Weather or not this is a good thing is debatable.

I did PADI certifications, I didn't find any problems with it. I think they're all pretty much the same, just find what is closest to you and value for money.
