Smile Recommendations of where to dive needed?

I have just started diving and have 2 weeks holiday coming up soon. I want to go away somewhere where i can do a bit of sightseeing but also a bit of diving....needs to be somewhere with a bit of sunshine (as i need to get away from the UK weather!!) . There is the obvious red sea, but i also hear that Malta and Gozo are pretty good - can anyone recommend a hotel with dive facilities out there ( or anywhere else really). Have searched on internet, but so much info and now totally confused!!!

If you want to cross the pond, Cozumel and Bonaire are both terrific and well-suited to a newbie.
