Default Running across Huge Sharks or Killer Whale?

I cant wait till I learn to scuba dive, but I cant help but to think, how I would react if im under water and see a huge shark like a White shark or a Killer Whale.

Im sure my reaction would be to get out as fast as possible, but knowing its not safe to surface so fast, I wonder if I would be able to stay calm enough and take my time getting out of the water

I guess I have to begin to mentally prepare myself starting now, knowing I must stay calm and not to surface to fast and risk getting sick. But if a scuba diver is being attacked by a shark or killer whale, Wouldnt it be best to risk getting the bends instead of getting bit or even worse eaten

Have any of you had such an experience? If so how did you react? I was told that Killer whales avoid scuba divers because of the sounds of the bubbles and the way they look??? But I do recall hearing about a scuba diver being hit really hard by a killer whale, but he survived???

Is there a company out that makes some sort of electrical device which can give off an strong electrical current or something that could scare such large dangerous creatures away?

I love the sharks! They look really cool in the water gliding along. They are a lot like superman - don't pull on their cape/fin. They are atracted to electrical signals put out by struglling fish. Think of lions on the Seringeti. The go after the weak, young and injured. Sharks are the same way. I tend to stay away from spearfishing and using metal detectors. All of the shark attacks I've heard about on divers are on folks who have been spearfishing. They are going after the string of fish and the diver gets in the way. They are attracted to both. You leave them alone and they'll leave you alone. I do know guys who have been "bumped" by one. They get a "taste" of you that way. They have electrical and taste sensors in their skin. They don't care for neoprene. It's a lot like happening upon a bear in the woods. Give them their space and admire them in their element. Don't chase them. They don't do tag. It's not a petting zoo!

Have fun! It's a graet show!
