Ice diving has never been appealing to me, not when you can dive the Cayman Islands for relatively cheap, and the water is 80F. I'll take a 3/2mm suit anyday over a drysuit.

ice diving doesn't appeal to me either. It does look very dangerous and diving into freezing icy water no way!!!
I understand taht some must find something to it as i see more and more people having a go at it, but it's just not for me!

It isn't something i fancy either!
I think that ist's very dangerous and that people who practice it are crazy!!

You hear about so many accidents related to that sort of diving, that it should turn anyone off

I've never wanted to try that out and realy don't understand those who do realy (with all my repect that is), where is the point in doing so? testing the body's limits or to give yourself a good fright?

I recieved my ice diving cert about 6 years ago and been under the ice 4 or 5 times after. What a rush! The training I did was for search and rescue operations under the ice (if someone falls through we can go get them). I was tethered with full face mask and underwater communications. We conducted our pattern and I decided to ski under the ice. To ski, you need to invert with your fins touching the bottom of the ice, it takes a few minutes to adjust buoyancy. When ready, I gave the go ahead to my tender and he pulled me in by the tether rope until my fins appeared in the hole. I never laughed so hard in my life and did it 2 more times that day. By the way, I only dive with a wet suit, even in the ice. Dive Safe.

That's sounds so awesome! I'd be laughing too. You've gotta video that next time and share it with us... LOL. Skiing upside down right? Awesome, plain awesome!
