Default Very new diver question?

Me and my wife are going through the Naui course right now and we just did our first pool session...I have to say it was different than I expected...Just the fact of breathing under water was a little strange at first...The amount of effort it take to breath was more than I thought it was going to be as well...I wanted to know will this get better once we get used to it?Also the instructor had us go down to the bottom at the deep end and get on our knees so he could show us a few skill and I was having a real hard time staying in one place...I felt real off balanced....Does this get better with time and getting used to the weight of everything or do I need to do something else...Like add more weight?

Yes to your questions. It all will get better. It takes about four hours or 4, 1 hour sessions in the pool to lose the bobber feeling. I tell my divers don't fight it if you lean you lean. Some times I have them put I knee down the other foot down in front of them, it helps with the balance.

Glad the advise helped. When you go to the open water for the training dives, remember your now entering an environment deeper then the pool and stuff in the water and you can kick with out running into the edge as fast. You will feel a little awkward also during the first dive. As with the pool you will adjust and it will be a lot of fun.
