Default your first dive?

I was wondering where you guys had dived the first time?
It may make you laugh, but the first time i dived with a real equipement , i was following a diving course at the local swimming pool!!! Wasn't incredible but must say i was very exited!
Then my first real dive 'out of the swimming pool', was around surfer's paradise in Queensland.

Well, the first time was with a tube... so may not be considered as actual diving. The other time I was with a group of friends on one of the off coast islands and we caught some clams for supper

First time I dived, hmmmmm good question it was a long time ago for sure, maybe 20 years at least; we went diving with school, on a 1 week water camp!
Nothing incredible but it was when you are 9 or 10!

Same here....the first time that i dived was the most dangerous and mischievious thing i had done yet!! A story way back to about 12 years....I had gone to my Grandparents place in a remote town. They had a well in their backyard. My grandparents had just a day prior to this had called a few people who clean the well. At that moment god knows what was going round in my mind and i took a dive into that same well!! Wow, the first dive of my life went down more than 20 feet!!

That was truly freaky and well wouldnt ever wish to even think of that day. My grandparents panicked to death, but well finally i am here making this post, alive 12 years after

My first dive seems to be ages ago.
I was 15 at the time and am 36 now! so that's over 20 years back. My grandparents use to have a little house on the coast and so it was natural to dive...

My first dive was illegal but pretty cool. I went down about 25 feet sucking on my uncles octo. It was in California, in the winter, water was like 58 or something and all I had was a shorty, so I froze for 5 minutes then went to the surface and waited for him and his buddy to surface later.

Since certification, my first real dive outside the pool and the crater we certified in, was Fiji. Great soft corals there! I'd go back in a heartbeat.

My first was at a pool. I was sure the regulator was not going to work, it did and I was in love with the idea of the sport. My first open water was in Grand Cayman. After my first real dive, I thought why do people do anything else.
Then I paid the bill (memory recall).

my first was at a pool. the first open water was at Blue Grotto, and my instructor took me throught the cavern. It was extremely scary but extremely fastinating, ever since then I have been focusing my diving more towards penetrating into overhead environments, whether it be wrecks or caves, altho i prefer caves, just becasue you dont have that damn current

My first dive was in a nearby lake. The vis was amazing, about 15-20 feet. What an impression this made on me. Now that I do mostly rescue and recovery diving with near zero vis, I think about that first dive alot.
