Oh My HEAVENS!

it is truly a
"driving-with-oven-mitts-on-seems-clever" kind of day out in Las Vegas today!
(if you don't know what that means, then you haven't ever lived
in the desert - LOL)

Holy Smokes!

It's suppose to be 111 degrees tomorrow in town -- I'm running away
from work an hour early tomorrow to go diving. The way I see it
It's the only sensible thing to do.

The only time I was there was coming off a rafting trip down the Grand Canyon, where it hit 120+ every day. 111 seemed balmy by comparison!

Gets lots and lots of water go diving. Today in Chicago its in the 70's with a cool wind blowing. We are going back up but nothing like what your dealing with. Remember to make sure you and your buddy suit up at the same time so you don't overheat to bad waiting on them.

Arrow synchronized ballet! Dont' miss this Vegas show!

Thanks! I'm excited and getting all ready!
....I've got my bananna here to eat with my lunch...and two bottles of water I'm drinking on my desk.

It's funny the "cultural differences" that develop with variations in the environment...
I'm sure you can imagine!
My instructor includes "Wetsuit 101"
in each of his Open Water classes, to help us in the beginning...

Because out here It's an absolute art form!

A HIGHLY desired skill is
the Synchronized-Dive-Buddy-How-fast-can-you-don-a-wetsuit-and-get-in-the-water ballet!
(it really should be a PADI speciatly)

It's a must see when you visit vegas!
forget Circe-de-Sol! Forget Sigfreid and Roy!
Magicians and Acrobats will not impress you once you've seen
6 to 10 of our local divers on the shore of Lake Mohave,
all donning 7 mil wetsuits and hooded vests,
on a beach in Bullhead City, Arizona, in 116 degree heat!
You won't believe your eyes!
These desert dwellers will perform in ways you never thought possible!

"READY? GET SET! GO!!"

Gumby has Nothing on us~!
We bend, we twist, we contort! You'll watch in stunned amazment!
Count down the seconds while we dance!
In go the legs, tug and pull over the butt...as we go back to
yank on our boots the
pouring sweat is now our ally! it makes your mid-section slick!
DON'T get hung up on your arms though! If you Need Suit Juice, Plan Ahead!
THIS IS A TIMED EVENT!
Reach behind and pull up your own zipper - velcro closures are done by feel...
You DO NOT want to stand around waiting for someone to zip you up!
Waiting for help is Not an Option!
Hahahahaha!
Men seem to trust brute strength...women? many of us
thank the Almighty for Hyperstretch! LOL!

It is truly a sight to behold.

This is one part of the country where you'll just about never hear
a diver ask another...."are you getting
ready to go in the water?" LOL!
