Question Where's Vegas?

Is she on vacation somewhere and didn't invite us?
It's not like her to go this long without posting..
Or did I just miss a post explaining she was going to be gone for awhile?

OK, where have you gone now? Taken up knitting or something more sedate?

LOL!!
that's priceless!

nah....I was in San Diego for about 5 days (got home the same day the fires started showing up on the news) --- and then I spent last week, unpacking, catching up, and coordinating an event for my dive club, "Las Vegas Divers"....oh, and working, a little. LOL! (I have to do that once in a while during the day to convince my boss that I'm worth keeping! )

oh! and BTW.....I logged my 55th dive on Friday!

Yup, I volunteered to be "event coordinator" for my dive club...and our first event was friday, October 26th.....it's a state holiday "Nevada Day".....so I called it the
"Las Vegas Divers First Annual Nevada Day and Night Dive!".

Twas 3 dives, one afternoon, one twilight, and one night dive.

We had a potluck dinner with tons of food, fried chicken, sandwiches, and the best potatoe salad in the whole world!
I had 10 people show up, 9 divers, and one family member came along just to enjoy the festivities!

The afternoon dive was a long one, (6 divers) in an easy cove, about 69 degrees at 60', with several bass, bluegill, striper, etc. (the usual cast of characters!) making appearances.

the twilight dive had 7 divers, though a group of three returned halfway into the dive due to one diver having a bit of a problem with his reg at about 60'.

The last dive was the BEST. Only 4 of us stuck around for it...but all the better. We were diving under a HUGE full moon. The catfish were all out and seemed totally unconcerned with the divers putting them in the spotlight. The vis was Good for the lake -- maybe 18' - 20' or better? (wow!) and we dove shallow (deepest point was 37') and long (just about an hour), and near then end a couple of us laid on our backs in the grass and just watched the moon through 25' of water for a little while. LIFE IS GOOD!

On the surface we dried off, packed gear, then sat around sharing dive stories til midnight, muching on the last of the sandwiches and cookies. I finally rolled in around 2am, then slept till 11am on Saturday.

I'm sorry I keep disappearing on you guys!!
I hope the dive report makes up for it....at least a little?

Dive reports always make up for it.. The biggest reason: You came back to give the report.

Great report. I bet that dinner moved some weight off your belt and onto your love handles.

Nice to see you back Vegas. Look like fun dives. 55 dives WOW!!! I see your gills are in good working order. Except for the pool now, my next outdoor diving is in April with a trip to Little Cayman. Is it April yet?
