Question Which wreck have you dived on that has had the most impact on you

Is there one wreck that you have dived upon that has really stayed with you?

What out of that dive experience struck you the most & why?

I would have to say the Prinz Willem IV. It is a 250' freighter that sunk off Milwaukee in the early 50's and lies at 90'. It is the first lake Michigan wreck I dove and seeing that sucker emerge from the gloom had me hooked on Great Lakes wrecks.

I would have to say the Thistlegorm was one of those wrecks that have had an impact on me. I was lucky enough to dive this popular Red Sea wreck some years ago before the deterioration that comes with divers visiting it constantly began to really show.

It was like diving into a World War II military museum. Lorries, motorcycles, bren gun carriers and even two locomotives. Not to mention the swim through the holds and galley.

Sadly, it is beginning to show its age and the ravages of dive boats and divers.

Right now, since I have only a few under my belt, I have to say the Oriskany. Since she's only been down a year, there is very little growth on her everything is still very recognizable. The sheer size of the thing will stick with me forever.. Awesome dive, but I probably won't go back for another 5 to 10 years to let it "grow." Hoping to dive a couple U-boats off the North Carolina coast next Spring.
