In my welcome post I mention that hopefully I will be able to get some feedback on an idea I am developing for my university final year dissertation in mechanical engineering.

the basic idea is to adapt sat diving equipment for use on board a submarine as a submerged live aboard (this is thoery only i aint going to build it, yet) for recreational divers.

for part of it i will need some basic information from divers regarding the following

1) what depth would they like the unit to work at
2) where they would like it (either chukk or scap flow)
3) what kind of facilities would they like onboard (gas mixes, accommodations, social facilities etc)
4) what safety features they would like.
5) other stuff i need to think about.

so basically will you mind me posting such threads? im asking first as I know allot of forum owners/admins/mods don’t like people to jump in and start asking stuff like that as it could be seen as business based

this is to develop a kind of idea what size I need to build the rig and start to work out gas requirements etc.

Paul, first of all welcome to Divingtalk.

There is no problem with starting up threads that are connected to diving and your dissertation. The only thing is we ask that you abide by the TOS which you can find below.
