Default boss is paying for trip where to go?

wanting any ideas for a surprise birthday for my husband/I don't dive as of yet, but he would live in the water if he could. I need a great place to go and my boss is helping me take him on the trip of his life.

This really depends on how much $$$ your boss is willing to pony up. With my boss it would be a hot sheets motel in Podunk.

If only one of you is a diver, you may what additional activities.

#1. Hawaii. The Big Island or Maui. (You did say trip of a lifetime, so make it for two weeks and do both.)

#2. Cozumel, Mexico. Great diving, plenty of resorts and shopping. Playa del Carmen and thr Riviera Maya a short day trip away.

#3. Not my favoriter, but people just LOVE Jamaica.

Have you done previous Caribbean or dive vacations?

We also like places like Club Med and Sandals. They have lots of activities and entertainment, all inclusive and provide dive and snorkel programs.

My husband is a non diver and has been to Grand Cayman and Cozumel and would go back to both places. His number one choice is Grand Cayman. The resort we stayed at was wreck two years ago in a hurricane but the island has recovered nicely. Lots of diving and shopping and the food is some of the best in the world. Down side cost $$$$$$$. Cozumel is drift diving, some times a little more difficult for newer divers. Down side if you stay near the downtown, very tourist, too much pushing for sales by the locals. Stay further out at an all inclusive, how people cater to you.

I have not been to Aruba but I know they have topside actives and well as the diving. Also the Virgina Islands if you or your husband like sailing these islands would be a good choice.

Trip of a lifetime? TAHITI! great diving, great food, great scenery, great beaches, great time!

I second scuba mama on Cayman. I was the only diver in my family and had a great time. My wife and kids (21, 23) loved it and want to go back. Wife yes, kids, they're on their own.

Fiji is a good idea. However, there is a bit a social unrest, a coup occurred about a month ago. I might keep it as a back up idea but look at the political climate before I would jump on a plane. I other place I would suggest to you is Cocoview resorts in Roatan. The diving is fabulous and the resort caters to adults, not kids.

Bora Bora? Paradise! Waking up looking across the the incredible blue water to see Mount Otemanu is priceless. The diving spectacular. If the boss is paying for it then hubby should definitely sping for some black pearls for you.
