Default Micronesia: The decision is made!

...after waffling, rambling, considering, changing my mind, then changing it back again, and such, for quite some time I've made
a final decision.

I'm going to my LDS TODAY to pay my deposit on a 2 week trip to Micronesia (February 20th through March 7th). The first week will be on the Odyssey, the second week, I believe, on Yap (I think). I still have to gather the last of the details, but for the moment (due to cancellations) there is space available, and I'm going to take it.

I'll be eating ramen noodles for a while, and making christmas gifts rather than buying them this year - LOL - but it's the trip of a lifetime, and I'm willing to make the adjustments to be able to be there for it.

I can't wait.
My friend who has been there tells me.....
"It'll ruin you, you know....but you won't mind!"

So, friends....i guess I'm on the road to ruin! LOL!
....and couldn't be more excited about it!

Vegas I'm glad you're going on this trip. It sounds like it'll be totally worth the ramen noodle diet!

Yep, One week on the boat, the second week on land.
OMG. I can't believe it!

and, as it stands right now, (if all goes as planned)
I'm going to be doing my
Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Proceedures classes before
I go. (My instructor will be on the trip as well).....

wow.

Hi all!!
Yesterday around noon I stumbled back in after a week in Micronesia (and one day in Hawaii).

Oh My God, what an incredible trip.

it was 100% absolutely worth every single penney I spent (and still owe) on it!!

If you EVER get a chance to go dive from the Truk Odyssey, run, don't walk, sell your car, whatever it takes!! and GET ON THAT BOAT!

Once I recover some from the jet lag, i will tell you more...for now...
25 dives on 12 wrecks and 1 reef. Unbelievable. water was 82 degrees, vis averaged around 95'. each wreck was somewhere between 380' and 500' long...and the sights were breathtaking.

On the way back to the states, we had an all-day lay over in Hawaii....so a friend and I went and toured the sights at Pearl Harbor to really round out our WWII history experience.

Twas the trip of a lifetime.
I'm still in awe.
