trying to get on Blackbeards!

Hi all!
Well - as you know, I had to cancel my trip to Micronesia. We had planned to go in Feb. 09, but my surgery earlier this year took me out of work for 10 weeks and did a number on my savings account.

So now we're on to a new plan.
I'm trying to scrape together the last couple hundred bucks I'd need to get on a trip with several friends through my LDS. Tis on Blackbeards, 1 week in the Bahamas, at the beginning of October.

I want to go so bad I can taste it!!

So far, it's looking favorable that I'll be able to schmooze for the time off work. As long as the prices don't skyrocket in the next two weeks I should be good to go with my finances too.

The only things that might step in the way now seem to be
1. If some unforseen expense should arise in the next few weeks
2. If I actually GET the county job I've been interviewing for!

No Bahamas trip for Vegas.....

I had the money set aside...but my law firm got terribly busy and it turns out
we have, not one, but TWO trials scheduled to begin that week.

Oh well...it's all good...

ya know why?

I'll tell you.....

You might remember that trip to Micronesia coming up in February '09 that I had given up hope on,
when my surgery wiped out my savings account?
Well....there have been a couple of cancellations....and I might get to go!
I may only be going for one week instead of two...but I'm getting to be OK with that.....
(there's alway 2010 for a 2 week trip!)

I'm going home tonight and striping my budget of all "unnecessaries" - LOL! -
hoping I can pull enough together for this trip, and the
TDI classes I mentioned in another thread.

We'll see how I do....

but yay for you on the Micronesia trip! That really sounds exciting!

DRAT!!
I had the budget all laid out...it really looked like I was going to go.
Drat.....
I was mistaken.....
upon re-calculation, I'm SOL.
Oh, well.....it's a dream trip.....I can keep dreaming for another year.

Maybe I will go to Cozumel for a week in December.
I do have a friend willing to go with me.
