Lightbulb Cruise ship tourist dies after snorkelling excursion

Quote:
An American tourist from the Celebrity cruise line died on Wednesday morning after a snorkeling excursion at Savannah Bay, Virgin Gorda. The dead man has been identified as 65-year-old Barry Chester Zink of Massachusetts, USA.

According to police, Zink went on a snorkeling excursion with his wife and several others at Savannah Bay Wednesday morning. After about half hour of snorkeling, he reported feeling tired so they decided to return to the beach.

While at the water’s edge, Zink developed difficulties breathing and reported feeling chest pains. He was assisted by other persons from the excursion, one of whom happened to be a doctor.

An ambulance was called in. He was taken to the Iris O’Neal clinic where he lost consciousness and stopped breathing.

Dr. Crentsil pronounced Zink dead at about 11:20 a.m.
