| New Scuba TV Show coming Fall '08 Tank'd http://www.sevenseasproductions.com/projects.html
Will it survive for more than one season? Probably not.. But, it'll be fun to watch during the one season. Can't find what channel it's on, though. I tried to watch the trailer, but the cleaning lady is mowing the carpet next to me and I can't hear it..
I've watched a ton of "specialty" shows that are great to watch if you are into that specialty. But, they never last long.. One of my favs comes from your area, Ally. A guy named Mark Evans did a show called "A Plane is Born." It showed him building the plane while also learnig to fly. Good little 15 part series.. But, they all had their one time run and you never see them again. |

| Scuba Diving Magazine had a write up on the show. I do not remember the station either but I'll check the magazine and get back with the info.

| Yeah, the big magazine. I don't like the new size. Harder to store or to carry to read at work.

| Then it can't be Chatterton and Koeler, you have to pay them.

| LOL.. No, it's not them.. A husband and wife team that travel around to different locales. They have 13 episodes for the first season and 13 different locations from Micronesia to the Caribbean and points in between. I hope it's interesting to watch. The only thing I get to watch on PBS right now is "Barney and Friends" and "Sesame Street." (Courtesy of my 21 month old daughter) |

| FYI - The folks at PBS in Seattle are counting on at least 3 seasons from us and we've said 3 - 5.
You can't think of this as just a SCUBA show - those types never do last. TANK'D is far more then that. Think Deadliest Catch, or American Chopper, or Myth Busters.
All fun personality type shows . . right? How many people watching those are Alaskan Crab fisherman ?? or actually own a chopper ??
Yes there is lots of SCUBA of all skill levels and other - snorkeling, free diving etc. But it is really going to be marketed to the masses as an underwater adventure show.
While only 100,000 or so are certified as divers in the US each year, more then 100 million people consider themselves adventure travelers.
Right now the most popular show on PBS is "Antiques Roadshow" we hope to change that. It really is a Discovery channel type of show, but on PBS - show you don't have to watch those damn commercials every 4 mins - LOL But with out all the fake hype and all that comes with discovery channel shows.
It is real and has a heart.
Oh and we are not married - Shalynn and I are business partners.
I posted the link for a 12 page magazine/show guide is a previous post that gives you some background about the show.
Thanks again everyone

| OK, I'll be the grinch here. I have problems with both your whole concept and this show airing on PBS.
First, my creds: I have been diving since high school in the late 60's and am a technical diver who gets his kicks diving Great Lakes' wrecks, with maybe one trip a year to the Keys or Caribbean. I am also a long-time supporter of PBS.
Obviously, I have been around long enough to see diving go from a small cadre of real adventurers to the huge money-driven industry that it has become.
You say you will "be marketed to the masses as an underwater adventure show" and "only 100,000 or so are certified as divers in the US each year". Why is Public Broadcasting marketing anything to anyone? Diving is a demanding, expensive, and potentially dangerous pursuit that is being sold to the public as something that it is not. Packing fragile reef systems with poorly trained, inexperienced divers is not "going Green".
Finally you say "It really is a Discovery channel type of show, but on PBS - show you don't have to watch those damn commercials every 4 mins - LOL But with out all the fake hype and all that comes with discovery channel shows". It looks to me like it is a Discovery or Travel channel type of show. How many of those PBS non-commercials from PADI, gear manufacturers, or exotic resorts will be popping up on your show?
