The Halloween season has already started! At least in Key Largo that is, as the annual Underwater Pumpkin Contest was held yesterday at Amy Slate's Amoray Dive Resort.
Every year participants receive a hollowed-out, eco-friendly pumpkin and their task is to create a scary, funny or just wacky jack-o-lantern. The contest, staged by the Amoray Dive Resort, judges divers on their artistic originality, as well as the degree of difficulty to carve the entry in the sub sea environment.
What the hell is an "eco-friendly" pumpkin? One with all the goop removed? That takes all the fun and challenge out of it!
There are three underwater pumpkin carvings I know of in this area, and no mention of this "eco-friendly" stuff! Bring on the goop!
