Question Can the weather cause a problem

Seeing as you are under the surface of the sea or lake, does the weather make any difference as to whether or not you can dive?

For the diving itself, if there is a lot of rain and you are in a lake or quarry, it could seriously take out the viz. Of course, lighting can be dangerous when mixed with water. High winds and surf could make it very hard, if not impossible, to get back on the shore or back on the boat.
On the other hand, I've heard stories of people that have dived (dove) during a lightning storm in the ocean and they said it was friggin' awesome looking from below!!!
