Question Can you dive...

...with an arm in plaster?

If someone has broken their arm and its in plaster, can you still dive...?

Strangely enough I have encountered this. As long as the doctor gives the o.k. you can dive. I had a twin in a wrist cast and she was able to dive. Mind you we were pool diving and things were harder with just one hand but the cast was not stopping the dive.

Again, the doctor was questioned and the o.k. was given.

How do you wrap it up enough to keep it water tight so the plaster doesn't disintegrate in the water and still keep circulation to your arm?

No extra wrap was needed. The casts they put on some type of injuries can get wet. She did not complain about extra pressure on her arm. Although, because her brother was going to be in a class two weeks later she did her final pool session with him. By this time the cast was gone. She was a real trooper through the whole mess.
