Question How long have you been diving?

When did you start diving...is there anything about diving that you do not like?

I started in 2000, what don't I like, carring my gear to and from a dive site.

I started when I was in high school in (ahem) 1967. I was away from the sport for years, and was re-certified in 1999.
The thing that really bugs me is how over commercialized and dumbed down it has become. Just because you have a pocket full of C-cards and a bag full of fancy gear does not make you a good, safe diver.

I am the newby.. I did my Discover Scuba dive in Sept of 2005. After that, I came, purchased my gear and got O/W certified. Been diving ever since. Honestly, the thing I hate about diving where I am (Middle Georgia) is I have to travel to Florida to do it. The cost can be a bit much at times also, but when I think back of the bills I had while getting my pilot's license or when I owned and drove my own race car, the costs don't seem that much.

. . . .and I'd be the baby of the group! - I just got my O/W cert in April, '07 (have about 48 dives now).

What don't I like?

being seasick sucks, but getting in the water usually helps....

I guess just that I can't do it all the time.

I started diving in the Royal Navy in 1975 and went on from there. Have dived fairly consistently ever since. More a passion rather than a hobby.

Things I find irritating? The way that a lot of new divers seem intent on pushing themselves forward up the training ladder with the minimum of effort. It has brought diving into the spotlight but for all of the wrong reasons. Diving incidents seem to be on the increase.
