This is what I love about this board: learning about places I never would have thought of and now want to dive.

Here's some links to my neck of the woods, southern lake Michigan (Chicago/Milwaukee area):

Sorry about hijacking the thread........

Port Napier was a great wreck dive. I visited her quite a few times when I was in the Navy. We used to stay at a place called Balmacara House which the RN owned. I believe the National Trust for Scotland now looks after it. Beautiful part of the country as well as great for diving.

Visited Loch Aline and did the usual culprits before I left for Angola last year - Rondo, Thesis, Shuna and the Hispania. Still excellent dives but I can't help remembering them as I first dived them some years ago. The Hispania still had all of its superstructure (along with the captain's cabin and his steel bath!!).

Scapa Flow in July! That's keeping my fingers (and everything else!) crossed that I will be able to get out of Angola in time.

Hope to meet up with you sometime and get some good wrecks under our belts.

MgicTwnger (and all on divingtalk) the invitation is there for any of you guys wanting to travel and try some diving with a British flavour. This is the benefit of belonging to the forum - you have dive buddies situated all over the world!

Safe diving.

I understand exactly what you mean That said, I have met some fantastic people over on my trips to visit my youngest son. He resides in Indiana but is currently at school in Rexburgh, Idaho. Whenever I visit I always take the opportunity to make new friends in the diving fraternity. Seems silly not to!!

I now have a prospective buddy living over in the Chicago/Milwaukee area

Ding

Had a look on Finstrokes but couldn't access the river Orchy guide under Shore dives.

I have been white water rafting on that same river. Wheeeww!! I think there were times when I did see salmon, trout and eels!!
