Default Easy to Attach SPG to Regulator?

I'm getting back into diving after 30 year layoff - getting a new regulator and I want to attach the SPG/depth gauge I bought off of eBay. Is it pretty straightforward to do this? Any special kind of lubricant I should use/avoid?

Thanks,
new (old) diver in NJ

I feel for ya, I'm another new/old diver from NJ, long story how I got back into it out here in the Midwest. It's not Mike Nelson's scuba anymore.

No lube is needed. You reg will have high (HP) and low (LP) pressure ports. The are usually labeled and take different size plugs and hose fittings. Your second stages, primary and octopus (if you have one) will take up two LP's, which is OK.
You need a HP port. Remove the plug with an Allen wrench. Make sure the SPG hose has an O-ring. Screw in SPG hose and tighten it down. Fire it up and check for leaks with soapy water. It's also a good idea to check you new SPG against another tried-and-true one for accuracy.

Glad to have you here, good luck with your new/old sport!

Default Thanks for the tip

Hey thanks a lot - glad to hear I don't have to take it to the dive shop
just for attaching it. Best of luck to you - looks like we've "traded places" -
I came from Indiana but have lived in NJ for 25 years - you came from here
and now live in the midwest (I know there's a difference between Indiana
and Illinois but most people in NJ don't :-)

Nah, the ony difference I can see is that Illinois has Chicago. Otherwise, it's all corn, pigs, and Bible-thumpers.
