Default marking kit

Finally after a bit of a wait i had my first pool session last night which was amazing even with a little bit of a equalisation problem.
After a bit of a mix up in the locker room however it was suggested that i mark all my kit to save an confusion in future (one of those things i'd meant to do but kept forgetting). Sooooo whats best to mark it all up with obviously i want something waterproof, permanent and non-toxic is a permanent marker pen going to be ok or is there something better out there and where would i find such a miracle marker?
Thanks

Two things work that I can think of ...

a regular Paint Marker

or the "puffy" plastic type gear marking paint.

I've used both on various pieces of gear...
just don't bother trying to use the "puffy" paint on fins...
one dive and you'll see little streamers of paint trailing out behind you...
