Default Nice Weekend

Saturday we drove down to Lake Mohave and did 4 nice dives...
There were three of us for the first two, then two more joined us in the afternoon for two more dives.
We were hit with a SOAKING rain between the first and second dive, and decided to stick it out....the rain lifted...the sun came out...and it turned into a Gorgeous day!

Vis was not so great, but not horrible either, maybe 20' give or take.
I've been diving my Buddies two Steel 95's (I get two dives off of each tank), while he dives our other 4 tanks - 3 al 80's and 1 steel 72.

and SUNDAY! now this was an exciting day! We were invited for a day out on a friend's boat ("the Narcosis").

We dove in a little cove in the canyon above the Hoover Dam. Wow. There is always amazing stuff to find draped along the Sheer canyon walls near the dam....everything from old cables and pipes, to one very old pepsi bottle (that one made it to the mantle at home), and a brand new mask and snorkle that looked like it couldn't have been there more than a week.

The cove is unofficially called Kraken Cove (because, I've been told, that "the Kraken" seems to swipe some small item, or piece of gear almost every time someone dives there - hmmm....makes you wonder who lost that mask?)

We did two dives down to about 130' - dark and chilly as you descend through multiple thermoclines.....and the canyon walls get closer and closer together the deeper you go. ...very creepy - I loved it!! right at 128' there is a Huge tree trunk that, before the dam flooded the canyon, had been growing horizontally out of the cliff wall. I looms an eerie white in the dim light as the canyon wall drops away into blackness below it.

I was diving 25% nitrox in a steel 120 loaned to me by our friend (and instructor). That is a HUGE tank for this girl who measures up just under 5'5" tall. I kept making jokes about diving "with a buick parked on my back" LOL!
What an experience! I have Really been learning A LOT lately about moving a tank strap up or down on a tank just 2" can make such an ENORMOUS difference in my trim.

Did anyone else get out diving this weekend?

I didn't get out, but you report almost makes up for it. That sounds like a very cool place to dive.
