Vegas:
"I will tell you though, come April, I should be in SERIOUS WITHDRAWAL, and ready to blow bubbles in the darned BATHTUB if I can get away with it! LOL!"

May I suggest a fish ID class it should help with the withdrawal. This will help get you ready for your Micro trip. I am very jealous. I had to cancel my trips this year, lack of funds.

Do what the Doctor wants and get feeling better soon.

Best wishes for the surgery. Definitely follow the doctors orders so that you will be fit and ready for the Micronesia trip.

Where is it you will be staying? Kosrae, Pohnpei, Yap or Chuuk? The diving is great on all of them but each island has something unique to offer. You will love it

Do you need anyone to carry your bags/

Default surgery

Thanks guys!
the surgery went very well (the doctors say), and I am on the mend.

I am dutifully following all the doc's instructions, and plan to behave myself for the entire 8 weeks of off work (and ten weeks without driving! ouch!).

I love the idea of taking a fish Identification class - I will start looking for one right away, and let you all know what I find out!

I am finally able to venture out in the sunshine, and sit up long enough to get on-line. My e-mail is BURIED. I'm scared. Maybe I'll put on my mask and snorkle (yes, I know, I know - me and my snorkle - LOL!) so I'll feel safer diving into the pile. LOL!

....counting down the days to Micronesia....
(oh! and that $ the federal government is suppose to be sending out? I will do my part for the economy and spend it on a dive trip in the channel islands this summer! God Bless America! LOL!)

glad to hear you're OK.
Anytime someone opens me up to the air with a knife it's scary esepcially if it's doctor! They take a lot more money then the guy in the alley. There are some great shows being podcast. Check itunes

I'm Going to go deeper than I ever have before. I'm going to get my advanced certification in august and one of the dives in the class is a deep dive. I don't know how deep yet but I'm pretty sure its going to be deeper than I ever went before. As far as trying a new location I will only be able to go to my usual stomping ground in Destin, FL. As long as I'm under the water I don't care where I am. I hope you all have a good time this summer!

Hey Bandit.. Normally, the deep dives we take our folks on is around the 70-80 foot mark. It just has to be below 60 feet to meet PADI standards. To be honest after about 50 feet, it all seems the same. We went down the flight deck of the Oriskany at 137 and it was no different than anything we did at 80 or 90 feet. It'll be fine, no worries.
Good luck with it..
