Default Scuba diving magazine

I have been eyeing to subscribe this scuba diving magazine http://www.scubadiving.com/

But now that i am a part of this very nice forums, i would prefer to have somebody's view over it before i go ahead to subscribe it. Has anyone here ever read any of those copies? How good/bad are they?

I read a few of their online articles about wetsuits and found them to be very accurate and resourceful. They are the "experts" in the field of scuba diving. Their awards like "Testers Choice" and "Best Buy" are considered an honor for most manufacturers. The name Scubadiving Magazine carries a significant amount of weight in this industry and I think it wouldn't be a waste of money to subscribe. Me personally, I just look at their online articles for specific items, maybe someday I'll subscribe.

I subscribe to Scuba Diving magazine. It is a very good read!!! There is all kinds of awesome stories and reviews on equipment. Not to mention all the low downs and reviews on dive spots it is very much worth the 15 bucks a year.

I agree I like that magazine. I also like Dive Training for much of the same reasons. The one item I found and use a lot was advertised in Scuba Diving Magazine was a changing tent. Never know what dry land item will make your scuba experince better.

People have been discussing the merits of these magazine equipment evaluations for years , specifically whether or not they are slanted in favor of their advertisers' products. I don't know how true that is, and it doesn't matter much to me, I just enjoy the articles. And the cute women in neoprene.
If I want product evaluations I ask divers I know and trust who are actually using the stuff. That's where boards like this can really pay off.

Another one here that subscribes to "Dive Training" and to "Scuba Diving." Love them both and wait anxiously each month for the new edition. The only one I get that isn't the greatest read is my "Alert Diver." But it comes with my DAN membership, so I scan through it when I get it.. A lot of big words in AD for this Southern Educated guy.

I went to that most un-southern of southern schools: the U of Miami. My higher education is pretty much a blur.

Yeah. I know what you mean. If it weren't for flashbacks I wouldn't have any memory at all!
