Default Aeris Airlink / Scubapro Air II repair?

Hi all,

In lieu of an Octo, I have an Aeris Airlink as my inflator. While testing out the gear (it's new) this weekend, I noticed that the Airlink is leaking just a bit of air and free flows at the slightest nudge. I can send it back to Leisure Pro and have them fix it, but I'm leaving for Cayman in a handfull of days and will not get it back in time. Taking it apart a bit, there is a lever held in place with a shaft and a nylon insert nut (see picture).

Can I tighten this nut up a flat or two to increase the pressure on the lever? Is there something else I can do myself or do I need to take this to a shop? I've got the tools and general skill, I just don't want to destroy anything accidentally.

Many thanks!
David

No! NO! NO!

That's not how you would adjust that... 2 things here... One, it might just be the IP is too high on your first stage... So check with an IP gauge and see if you're at 145 or so... or above that.

If you're at 145, or below, and you want to tighten up the octo inflator, you'd use a 5/32 allen and going in through the nipple, you can turn it only about 1/8 turn to the right, then check the crack pressure to about 1.5 - 2" of water pressure with a magnehelic.

We always check our regs before we ship them out to make sure they are in specs before they leave - and the numbers I gave you above would then be printed on the receipt - next to the serial number of the unit. Then if it was leaking, you'd know it was your IP, but in your case - you'll just have to go through a lot more testing.

This is one purchase that might have been good to get from a factory authorized dealer...

Don't mess around, take it to a qualified repairman or send it back for repair. Your LDS will probably give you a loaner if you act repentant for buying it on the internet.
