Default Brain freeze

Hi, im new to diving and recently bought a Gold CoreŽ Mens Semi-Dry Jump w/attached Hood i dive in mostly cold water around 40-55 degrees the suit works great except for the hood, when i look around water gets in around the chin and ear area and i get the feeling of an ice cream brain freeze. i was told theres caps for ice water diving and cold areas that go under the wet suit hood i was wondering if these work and is worth investing in.

There are such caps out there, but I have heard that they are not very effective. Since the hood is attached, it sounds to me like there is not enough play to turn your head freely. You might try a different size or get an unattached hood. Remember, it is a wetsuit, some water will always get in.
