Default Buying from a website

Does anyone have any experience ordering from LeisurePro. I am looking at buying a backup computer (a wrist unit) and was wondering if anyone has ever bought from this site.

I bought a suunto vyper from them. It was grey market, however. Luckily I haven't had a problem. They did tell me that they would honor the warranty. The service was great and it came quickly. I've bought other minor dive bling from them and been very happy.

The "grey Market" thing is well known in our side of the industry, and well debated too. I think they are fine (albeit and huge competitor of mine) but the grey market thing would scare me. Haven't been on the consumer side of the table in a while, but I think i'd want a warranty from the manufacturer.

I purchase most of my gear through them. When I first started buying from them I called the customer service number and was reassured to know they cover the products with their own warranty which is equal to the manufactuers. The pricing is excellent and delivery is quick.

I agree with resqdivemedic. I've had great service and product support from them. I bought 2 each of BC's (Sherwood Tortuga), regs (mares V32), etc. and have had excellent service.

Also, best of both worlds (i.e. auth. dealer and online prices) try scuba.com. Not only are they "authorized dealers" for their gear, their prices are awesome. I've visited their shop as well, here in Irvine, CA, and they've given me service (reg adjustment) absolutely free!

I totally understand the industry approach - "big risk from unauthorized dealers because....etc.". They have old style business models that are getting killed by the e-tailers but they have to be realistic. When I can buy a wetsuit and BC online for ½ price, why should I buy from them? Also, if an e-tailer has a long-standing rep and a written guarantee – why should I pay twice the price at a shop again?? I just don’t see it. But, if you would like to pay the extra money for having the peace of mind, there’s value there as well.

Good luck in your choice.
