Sport Diver does a pretty good job and Dive Training also does a nice job. There is not one set magazine that tests all gear and gives a comprehensive review for consumers.

There is some good info at Scuba Diving magazine ...

Probably not as thorough as Consumers Report but worth a read. There are also some older articles in their archive.

The next issue of Scuba Diving is going to test 10 of the newer computers also.. You might want to pick it up..

If you are UK based you could try www.divernet.com and log into their Dive Gear section. They have some really interesting equipment reports in there.

Good hunting.

Actually this board is a good source. Don't ask for a specific computer. Tell people what kind of diving you are doing and what kind of diving you want to be doing. There are many members who could then recomend a computer with personal experience. A review is just a guy diving one or two tanks with a unit. They are not living with it day in and day out like we are with our computers warts and all.

I would add: ask divers you know and respect. The reviews in diving mags, expecially the glossy ones, tend to be more sizzle than steak.
I suggest staying away from air-integrated, especially wireless ones. A computer failure would cost you knowing how much gas you have. A mechanical SPG is pretty bulletproof. As for wrist or console, up to you. I like a console with my SPG and computer.
