Default Full Face Mask

Hi All,
Is there anyone using full face mask while diving? I have done zen meditation for about 15 years (nose breathing) and am having a small problem getting used to not breathing through my nose under water. I was wondering what your opinion was about full face masks. Appreciate your advice.

Expensive, different safety protocols for OOA (out of air), freeflow, buddy share etc., nice in cold water since it covers your face.
You would probably be better advised to get into the zen of of better breathing underwater to reduce air consumption. Think of it as a new level with a different skill set. Your bottom time will improve.

I agree with Glynneco. I takes alot of training and pool experience before venturing into open water with a full face mask. The cost is also a problem. I was trained on them 6 years ago and used them on and off until this year when I purchased an Interspiro AGA full face mask($950). Even though I had used it previously, I still went to a pool to refresh myself with it. I only use it when I am doing rescue or recovery operations with the public safety diving team I work for. I know my teammates can assist if there are any problems. When I go recreational, I still rely on a conventional second stage. One other point to consider, most of the FFM on the market are sold as a second stage only, you still need a first stage. These first stages also have to be tuned to the specific mask depending on the manufactuers recommended operating pressures. Hope this helps.
Dive safe.
