hello fellow divetalkers,
my girlfriend and i are fairly new to diving(7months) and are gathering new equipment for ourselves... i would like to get her a BCD for christmas but i dont know whats good and there seems to be quite a bit of stuff out there...any suggestions or advise would be helpfull!!

One thing to consider is what did you use when taking your initial training, and did you like it. Go from that to find what you like. Another option is go to your local dive shop and find out about renting different styles of BCD to try out. Things to look at when shopping: weight intergrated vs. non weight intergrated, back buoyancy vs. full vest. Try them out and see what you like. I also suggest to shop around from local dive shops to the internet once you find what your looking for. Do some research, it pays off in the long run.

Finding a BCD is not hard, finding one you like a little harder. Yes, go to your local dive shop, check the gear they have or what can be ordered. Most shops will let you try out new gear in the pool. If your girl friend is of average height for girls, consider the back of the BCD. Girls BCD are designed for girls, shorter torso. Check out manufactures website look at what is stated and if they specify woman's BCD. I use a Luna and am very happy with it.
