Well, If you don't plan on using the gear for actual diving.... just go to your local dive shop and purchase some previously rented gear... that's the cheapest/easiest route to go..... don't get me wrong, I'd love to sell you some new stuff, but if you're only going to use it twice a year, why bother?

Hope this helps a bit.

this is ironic but my lds was under water and heavily damaged in hurricane katrina i live in new orleans. have you seen any good deals on used equipment on ebay or are than any sites that sell used equipment. do you? should i take a dive class just for this and considering i can stand in my pool whenever i want? i was cleaning the bottom of my pool with a pumice stone when this thought came to me. what about something like spare air can i just use that?

Those are good questions.... as for the diving class.... I'd recommend it.. you'll be safer, even if you are just in your pool. And who knows, you may end up loving it enough to venture out of the pool and into some more open waters

Unfortunatly we don't sell used gear, but our local shop does, let me know what you need and I can ask them for you.
