Default a spare mask?

i'm use to always taking a spare mask with me and that since the attach to mine broke once and that it sank right down. I was diving in deep waters and just couldn't of ever found it again.
Have you ever thought of bringing a spare mask with you just in case?

I always carry a spare mask if I'm doing anything in overhead environment, or requireing deco.

Masks are relatively cheap for diving gear, so the more the better! I always bring 2 or 3.

Just started using a full facemask and carry an extra mask in my BC. Never thought of bringing along a spare when diving with a standard second stage.

My first mask fit pretty well but eventually I wanted better visibility and lower profile, so I bought a second one as an upgrade, not a spare. And took my time to find one that fit really really well. That gave me a spare, because things happen and the glass in masks is glass, sometimes it will get smashed. Which is why my good mask is in a Pelican box!

I don't worry about a strap breaking because I check over straps and replace them as routine maintenance. I do also have a spare strap put away, just in case.
