the options may seems limitless, there are lots of types out there, but it is pretty basic. I'd get an aluminum 80, our small dive club has like 6 of them and we are very happy with them. Aluminum is a bit lighter than a steel tank, so that is something to consider if you want more weight... other than that, I'd go with either a Sherwood AL80 or XSScuba.

I am a big fan of steel tanks. Granted they cost twice as much as aluminum, but they make up for it with their buoyancy characteristics.

Where are you diving and who are you diving with? I dive with monster LP 120's. They're too big but I got a great deal on them. I always have plenty of air left at the end of a dive. More then anyone I dive with. Get a hot fill and it's almost like diving with doubles!
I digress. I like steel tanks to for the negative buoyancy. My dream tanks are hp steel 110's. AL 80's are cheap and if the debate is cheap or nothing take the the AL-80's.
Again though look at what the people you are diving with use. If everyone else is diving with 110's and you only have 80's you're not going to be a popular dive buddy!
