Default developping your lungs

Has anyone heard of a good way to help developping your lungs so that you can hold in a lot more air?
do you think this is possible and if yes how?

Not sure this will directly answer your question.... however this will help the real issue I think you are getting at. And that is Air Consumption right? You want to be able to consume less air, thus allowing yourself to stay down longer. We all want that! I think the best thing to focus on would be your recovery time. This is what alot of great runners work at. How long does it take you to recover from a jog? As you continue to focus on your cardiovascular health, your ablity to put your body though the stress of running jogging, and diving will improve. I hope I'm making sense. The bottom line is... if you want to increase your "lung capacity" what you need to focus on is your cardio workouts, your body will adjust, and you will end up using less air.

Resdivemedic what do you think?

Good answer. Attact the hills when you run. Also look at your gear. Are you drogging equipment? SPG? etc. How long are your hoses? Do they bow out real far or are they in tight. How are you swimming? Arms and hands in tight? Are you "racing" when you swim? Slow is better. How are you weighted? Can you loose any lead? The less you carry the better. Stay shallow for extended time and dive with NITROX for more NDL. Remamber to come up for food occasionally.
Scuba jerm is right bottom time is the holy grail of diving.

Great answer from scuba jerm. Cardio and physical conditioning pays off. I lost 37 pounds and noticed a big difference pre and post weight loss. Not only did I decrease my air consumption, but I took almost 10 pounds off my belt. My back has thanked me for that.
