Default Skin conditions

I was wondering if all those hours underwater could favorise some skin conditions, bacterial or other?

well you can get many sorts of bugs when you dive or just go swimming in the sea, some of which get burry themselves in your skins and can provocate rashes and spots. None are realy dangerous though but can provocate annoying itches

Certainly any prolonged exposure underwater increases your chance of having a run in with some critter. I got stung by a porteguese man-o-war (variety of jellyfish) and the thing nearly killed me off. I guess I had a reaction to it and that put me into some type of muscle peralysis, which increased the workload for my heart. My doctor said that if I wasn't in the shape I am, it could've actually killed me. This happened in Fiji where the water is 84degrees F so naturally no wetsuit right? I've learned to layer these days to avoid nasty stings.

Reactions an be different from a person to another some can lightly suffer when others could die, I don't think that people should take uncalculated risks

i'm happyto have found this thread. A few days after diving last year i started getting these red spots on my legs, my family followed. they disapear for a few days or weeks then suddenly come back up, itch terribly and leave marks. this has been going on for a few months now and the doctors aren't sure what it could be!!!!
