Default Gloves in a thermal cline

Cold water diving has a few different needs then warm water. The biggest is the additional gear and usually lower vis.

On a dive in Lake Michigan, while was a rookie, in a hurry to catch up with my buddy, shortly after passing through the thermal cline, I noticed something missing. My gloves were hooked to my BCD and not on my hands. My buddy noticing some distress grabbed my gloves and shoved my hands in. I was never so happy to have gloves. I also never question why I needed to wear gloves while cold water diving, especially if I was going deeper then 40 feet (in July). (Depth and thermal cline depend on the time of year in the mid west.)

This lesson taught at the school of hard knocks classes are always open.
