I don't think anyone gets sick from the rinse bucket, but who knows? I do know people get grossed out seeing someone rinse out spit there. I don't use the bucket, unless I'm in the mood to see the weenies get ticked off.

If that gets 'em, I follow up with a talk about the joys of peeing in your wetsuit.

I refer to blue collar diving and well upper class or as some who know me would say any one with any class ,uper or under, seperates me. I am amazed at the things that bother some folks. Here you are diving into an alien world completely dependent on equipment that some else made and for most, some else worked on and get hung up on a rinse bucket. The boats I've been on DO change out the water so how bad can it be? If you need to buddy share are you going to refuse because you don't know where the octo's been? You ever notice the best BBQ comes from a roadside trailer? The best dogs from that crummy little cart on the corner? I know I'm ranting but sometimes....jeez this stuff just rankles me!

I feel proud you consider me an upper class diver. Just so you know I clean both my mouthpieces with rubbing alcohol after diving and I have a bottle of "perell" hand cleaner I carry in my dive bag. Considering how many pieces of gear I can handle while teaching diving it a small thing to do. BTW, I have not had a cold in three years. Are my extra steps working you be the judge.

You're probably right! Pigpen was my hero though. Everyone I know is upper class when compared to me! I should send you pics of my double wide! I've moved up in the world.
