Default Sealife film camera

After diving for longer than I care to think about, I finally broke down and bought an underwater camera: a Sealife Reefmaster CL, good to 164 feet.

Naturally I would have preferred digital, but I couldn resist the deal I found: $26 for a store demo. I've tested it and it (apparently) works. I'll be taking it to a quarry this weekend to play around with and would appreciate any pointers from the photographers on our site. I also have a couple of questions right off the bat:

I have an external strobe from an Ikelite film camera that does not have a cord but fires by sensing the camer's flash, same as Sealife's. Is there any reason it might not work with my new camera mounted on an arm I build for it? I'm just being cheap.

Since most of my diving is in fair to poor viz I could use some pointers about shooting in these conditions.

Thanks,

Ken
