Bubbles,

Hawaii is a great place to dive. I've dove off 3 or 4 of the islands and let me say the reef systems out there are beautiful! Oh, and if you are planning a trip, you need to do a turtle dive! One of the DM took us to a turtle cleaning station... the turtles were everywhere! They had plenty of swim throughs where most of the turtles hid from the Tiger Sharks that feed on them. The swim throughs were spectacular. You will love diving in Hawaii. Let me know if you are going and I can give you more details.

Default what is best maui dive for fish

I'll be in maui in late feb and am looking for the divesites with the most fish.

Also, where are good shore diving sites that don't require a dive master?
Any input would be apprecaited.

Default Diving in Maui

We dove with Ed Robinson's Diving Adventures and had an awesome experience. They are located in Kihei. We dove the inside of Molokini a couple of times, since the water at the back wall was too rough. Amazing dives, saw sharks, whales in the distance, and numerous fish. Also dove a couple of times off the south shore, again great dives, saw turtles, dolphins, some large rays, and barricuda. Awesome dive experience!!! If you are thinking of diving a couple of days, book all dives at once and you get a discount, 3 or more I think it was 10%, over 5 days 15%, we booked our dives individually so we missed out on the discount. Overall I'd highly recommend this dive operation!

Default Kauai diving

Hi! My husband and I did our certification in Kauai last June. We had a very good experience with Fathom Five Boat Dives and Bubbles Below. We saw a lot of turtles, moral eels and some white tip reef sharks. Too advanced for us at the time, the best diving in the area is near Ni'ihau (the forbidden island) - wall dives and a lot more sea life can be found there - monk seals, tiger and hammerhead sharks, etc. We were advised that we weren't ready to dive there yet. However, we did do a snorkel trip there and that was very cool. We did our certification through Dive Kauai - not the most sophisticated or high end company but they were very nice and thorough. The best guide book is The Ultimate Kauai Gudebook - Kauai Revealed. There are good opinions on all of these companies in that book.
