Oh yeah! I go down there whenever I can afford it. Only 1.5 hrs? I drive that far to the quarry every weekend just to muck around in 5ft vis. They have a lot of great wrecks. My favorite is the U-85 a WWII german sub sunk by naval gunfire. It lies upright in 90ft on a sandy bottom. It's intact except for the oter hull. You can see the live torpedoes still in storage. The conning tower is intact except for the large hole in it where the US navy nailed it. The deck gun still sits there pointing up. That gives evidence to the fact it was a surface battle. That is awesome to find someone that is intrested in the type of dives I am looking for. I would love to join you however, I have just put my gear in the shop for service. But keep me in mind when you dive.

Ok. I just came back from a week in Nags Head. I went out three times for two tank dives. Once out 45 minutes from from Oregon Inlet on the Go Between with OBX Dive Center to dive the Advance in 80ft. 62 degrees and 15ft vis. The Atlantic was like a lake. The next two days we dove out of Hatteras with Outer Banks Diving on the Flying Fish. The first day was on the British Splendor at 100ft with 60ft vis and 72 degree temp. Great dive lots of fish, barracuda and sand tiger's. Second day was on the dixie Arrow similar conditions. All were great dives. I'll post a few pics.
